In short: Melior collects none of your data. Your memories belong to you alone.
Overview
Melior (“the App”) is a year-end reflection app. We understand the deeply personal nature of self-reflection, which is why privacy is a core design principle. This App does not collect, track, or share any of your personal data.
What We Collect
The short answer: nothing.
Everything you create in this App — your reflection answers, attached photos, and theme preferences — is stored locally on your device. We have no servers and do not receive or store any of your data.
Data Stored Locally
The following data exists only on your device:
- Reflection answers: Your written responses to each question
- Photos: Images you choose to attach to your answers
- App settings: Appearance theme preference (system/light/dark)
- Onboarding state: Whether you have completed the first-launch guide
iCloud Sync
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your data may sync to your iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit service, allowing consistency across your Apple devices. This sync is entirely managed and encrypted by Apple — we cannot access your iCloud data. You can disable iCloud sync for this App in your system settings.
What We Don't Do
- No analytics: No Firebase, no Mixpanel, no third-party analytics SDKs of any kind
- No tracking: No advertising identifiers, no user profiling, no behavioral tracking
- No ads: This App contains no advertising whatsoever
- No third-party data sharing: Your data is never sold, rented, or provided to any third party
Permissions
This App requests only the following permission:
- Photo Library (write only): Used when you choose to save your year-end recap card to your photo library. This is optional and entirely user-initiated. The App does not read your photo library.
User-Initiated Sharing
Data may leave your device only in these user-initiated scenarios:
- Share card: You can share your year-end recap card via the system share sheet — you control the method and recipient
- Send feedback: You can optionally send feedback via email, which automatically includes your device model and system version to help us troubleshoot
Data Deletion
- Delete the App: Uninstalling the App removes all local data from your device
- iCloud data: Can be deleted in Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage
Children's Privacy
This App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you within the App. You can always view the latest privacy policy in the App's settings.
